嘉庆通宝

嘉庆通宝铸于清仁宗嘉庆年间(1796-1820年)。钱径2．2-2．6厘米，重2-4克。钱面文字"嘉庆通宝"以楷书书写，从上而下而右而左直读。钱背满文左"宝"，右为满文铸造钱局名，如泉、源、苏、河、广等。中国古代钱币之一。

清代钱币特点：一皇帝只用一种年号钱，虽铸量大而形制较简单；除个别例外，所有年号钱均称通宝，钱文：皆为工整楷书，读法均对读，除个别例外。

嘉庆时出现了一些楷书钱文，如嘉庆万寿楷书大钱，有光背及背巨星二式，可能是西南地区所铸。按清初以来的制钱不讲究书法，但嘉庆宝黔局小平却有一种楷书钱文，写得清秀工整，令人耳目一新。嘉庆钱背还出现了草书钱文，如嘉庆通宝背桂桂、康康、寿寿，均是右楷左草，估计也属宫钱性质。

另有嘉庆通宝背满汉文桂宽缘折二型钱，铸工甚精，真品存世不多，其母钱则仅见一枚。桂虽是广西省简称，但看此钱制作还出于中央户部，据传与上述嘉庆背桂桂等钱均悬挂于后妃寝宫之中，以寓早生贵子之意。
